Setting Up Facilities for Skill Development

Under the scheme, 34 ITIs @ 1 ITI per district & 68 Skill Development Centers (SDCs) @ 2 SDCs per district are proposed to be established with 75% central assistance. Further, under the “skill training” component of the scheme, 30, 120 and 10 youth per district will be trained in long term, short term and instructor training courses respectively.

This scheme came into operation in the financial year 2011-12. An amount of Rs. 68.42 crore has been released to eight States. A statement giving details is Annexed.

C.V.C to investigate the scam of fake IEE at IIT

New Delhi: The Ministry of  Human Resource Development (HRD) has been asked by the Central Vigilance Commission to conduct a detail investigation of the scam related to operation of some fake institute called Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) - Kharagpur.

This action has been taken by Central Vigilance Commission after they had recieved complain by several students that they had been duped by the faculty of the IIT as they had promised that the institute was affiliated to IIT-Kharagpur.
