SURAT(Gujrat) : About 150 budding lawyers have submitted a memorandum to the Bar Council of India (BCI) to postpone the first all-India bar examination until next year and allow LLB pass outs to start their legal practice in their respective courts on Wednesday. Student leaders said about 1,200 were supposed to appear in the all-India bar examination on December 12-2010. But due to some reasons the examination has been postponed by three months. However, the LLB students cannot practice in courts without appearing in the exam, which is intended to test an advocate's ability to practice the profession of law in India. The LLB pass outs said that they have got the enrollment number from the Bar Council of Gujarat (BCG). But the all-India bar examination will give them the licence to practice in the courts. Sources reveal that around 1200 LLB students likely to appear in the all-India bar examination and over 50% of the lawyers appearing in the exams are from the state of gujrat
