The Apprentice Development Officers (ADO) recruitment exam’s notification has been issued by the LIC. Hope, you all have applied for your dream post. In order to control the errant private institutes in Gurgaon claiming recognition from foreign universities, Haryana Government is planning to take legal action against them. Higher Education department is preparing a list of private colleges in state, which claim affiliation with foreign universities, but do not have it.
“We have received information that several thousand students are pursuing professional courses in business administration, computer application and other streams from these colleges. We will try to take disciplinary action in a manner which affects as fewer students as possible,” said a senior official close to the developments.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court has restrainedPunjab Technical University (PTU) from admitting students in its distance education programme courses till IGNOU accords approval on the issue for the current academic year.
"We direct the second respondent university not to admit any student pursuant to the advertisement made on December 3, 2012 without specific approval from respondent No. 6 Distance Education Council of IGNOU," a bench of Chief Justice D Murugesan and Justice V K Jain said.

Delhi - After a lot of discussion and conferences, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to introduce a one-year LLM programme in universities from academic year 2013-14. However, law professors in the city are not happy with the decision as they believe it will dilute quality of the post graduate programme.
As per the UGC website, an expert committee constituted by the UGC has submitted the guidelines for introduction of the one-year LLM programme. The programme will be introduced only in universities/ institutions with a centre for post graduate legal studies. The universities fulfilling guidelines will be allowed to

Giving this information in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Shri Vincent H. Pala, Minister of State for Minority Affairs, said that the trades in which training is to be given are identified by the respective State Channelising Agencies (SCAs) depending upon the local needs and employment potential; and training is organized through Government owned/ recognized training institutions.
Shri Pala further informed the House that in order to educate and train more women from the minority communities, NMDFC has established a network with the Entrepreneurship Development Institutes (EDIs) of Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and
Under the scheme, scholarships are provided to ST students who are pursuing studies at degree and post degree level in institutions identified under the scheme like IIT, IIM, NIT, National Law University etc. The scheme is implemented through identified institutes and grant-in-aid is considered on receipt of complete proposal of eligible ST students, under the provisions of the scheme, from the identified institute and subject to availability of funds under the scheme.
The Ministry has not received complaint regarding non-payment of scholarship by the identified institutes to ST students against the grant-in-aid released by this Ministry.

(ii) In other trades, wherever necessary relevant computer topics are covered in the curricula.
(iii) IT Literacy course covering topics on basics of computer, has been made compulsory for trainees undergoing training in any trade at all the Government and Private ITIs of the country.
